16th Annual NYC Anarchist Bookfair

This year we continue to support the New York Anarchist Book Fair by coordinating the fair for the 2nd time in La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez. In addition to holding the fair at La Plaza on the 10th, there will be in person workshops, AnarkoArt Lab with Baltic Artist Festival, and the 16th Annual  Emma Goldman Film Festival, in Collaboration with CineMóvil NYC. On the 11th of September, there will be a whole day of virtual talks, workshops, and discussions.

The NYC Anarchist Book Fair was founded in 2007. It bringing around two thousand anarchists, anarchy supporters and curious together in New York City (on Lenape land) every year since its foundation. The book fair and related events offer a space for the anarchist community, bringing together anarchx-feminists, activists, scholars, workers, immigrants, queers, trans, artists and multi- racial individuals. It also offers an opportunity for the curious to learn about anarchism tradition, philosophy, praxis and the anti-capitalist struggle.

Each year, the NYC Anarchist Book Fair hosts over 60 exhibitors including publishers, writers, designers, artists, musicians and other activists. Past presenters in workshops include such figures as anarchist/artist Ben Morea, journalist Chris Hedges; cartoonists Seth Tobocman, Peter Kuper, and Fly; photographer and Native American activist Lenny Foster; scholar/activists David Graeber, Silvia Federici, and Martha Ackelsberg; civil rights lawyer and radio host Heidi Boghosian; poets Sasha Banks & Tongo Eisen-Martin; and former Black Panther and anarchist Ashanti Alston and others.
